Adobe released a security update today for Acrobat and Reader 8.1.2. It fixes a vulnerability which allows remote attacker to execute malicious code. This is likely to appear in a malware spreading website near you soon given the track record of the botnet operators. Suggest update this one as soon as possible, http://www.adobe.com/support/security/bulletins/apsb08-15.html

Is there a way to confirm the update was successfully applied? The installer doesn't provide any confirmation message, and the version number in the "About" window doesn't change. However, I noticed the version number of the Comments plug-in in "About Adobe Plug-Ins" increased from 8.1.0 to 8.1.2. Can anyone confirm the SU1 patch only modifies that module?

Hi Mike,
I came across same thoughts while apply update on my clients.

So i run Process Explorer to check for changes.
Only Annots.API (Which belongs to comments plug-in) is altered.
